Charlie and the Chocolate Factory March 3-19 2023 This was quite the undertaking! There was quite a lot of work with this set. Because there was so much work to do, I didn't do much of the big base painting for this show. I base painted the tickets, the gates and the machines on the back of the gates. I mainly did all of the detail work. Including the hand lettering and the lines on windows. I learned how to spatter with this show. It's a technique that is used a lot in theater that has eluded me up to now. It took awhile to get the hand of it but by the end I was doing OK with it. I also had to paint details on chairs and boxes and paddles too! It is always interesting what you end up doing when you are a scenic painter! For example painting paddles orange! I still can't believe that we got it all finished! It was a lot of hard work, but we did it! I have to thank my coworkers for all the help getting the base coats down and then helping me with all the touch ups too!
