Into the Woods Jr

This was my ninth show with Town Hall Theater. I've been learning so much with every show! This show was designed my my TD John and I think that it was our best. Again, because he designed it, John gave me the freedom to design the decorations on small items within the show. The decoration on the fireplace, cart, fence and bed are my design. It was so much fun figuring out what kind of decoration should be on what piece!

John and I worked together on the 13 foot trees. Since they were his design so he had specific ideas on how to paint the trees, so we worked together. We spent several hot, 90 degree, days in the shop painting the trees. The paint seemed to dry quickly and separate as we worked with it, because it was so hot. But we painted all the trees, but one, in a weeks time.

The Mother tree that stands in the front of the stage was left until the end. John had gotten so busy, so I talked him into letting me paint this tree, after all it is the "mother tree!" I spent one afternoon painting that tree and I felt like I bonded with that tree!

We wanted to make the mother tree glow. So john decided that we should try black light paint for this. So John and I came in on a Saturday and worked together putting the black light paint on this tree. It looked great when we were finished! Unfortunately after all the work they decided not to use the black light and no one could see our hard work. Oh well that's how it goes in Theater! Things change....

John painted the platforms, but I had to touch them up after they were transported to the theater, so they did change a little from his original design.

I painted the tower under John's direction, because he did have a specific idea in mind for the tower was to look. I love the way it came out!

I think that once every was put on stage it all look just GREAT! This had to be our best set so far!
