Monster in the Closet
Monster in the Closet
October 21-24
This was a showcase show at Town Hall Theater. It was designed by our new Tech Director John. I got to pick the colors, from what we had on the shelf, to show to the director. We decided on a purple and pink color scheme, because it was a young girls room. I had to paint the walls purple and pink walls. Unfortunately the purple ended up too dark so I had to lighten it, which was quite a chore getting it lighter. I has to use every ounce of paint that I had left in the color to finish the walls. It was difficult to paint over my hard work from my first show at the theater! I also had to paint over the 6 panel doors that I had worked so hard on for the previous show. Then I painted a blue wall with stars, which I used stencils for. My first time using stencils! It went pretty well only had to paint over a couple of mistakes. Did the moon without a stencil, it looked pretty good! Next I had to paint all the furniture for the bedroom. I was excited to discover a large bucket of Colonial White in the paint shop that I used for the furniture. It looked great! I got to choose the decoration. So I did purple trim and painted on fake drawers too. I also put the name of the main character on the chest. They even used my crocheted afghan as as a prop for the living room. Once everything was put together it looked great on stage!
The finished set looked great!
Here is where it began.....
