I was excited about doing Wizard of OZ. We followed the design as it came. Lots of blue. It came out nice. I enjoyed doing the OZ head the best and think it came out the best of everything.

I finished early, so I was able to help out with costumes. I've never painted clothing before, guess there's a first for everything! I've also  been tapped for props in this show since we were mostly using props that we already have in stock.

   First Show  Dorothy in Wonderland Town Hall Theater/Washington Township Finished product for Dorothy in Wonderland I was so excited to get the job of a scenic painting artist (or charge artist) with the Town Hall Theater in Washington Township. The Town Hall Theater is a children's theater in the middle of uptown Centerville, Ohio. According to Wikipedia: A charge artist (or charge scenic artist and also head scenic artist) leads and oversees the painting of the stage. I had done a little bit of scenic painting and design many years ago when my daughter was in high school, but nothing since then. Best Christmas Pagent Ever

 Best Christmas Pageant Ever Dec. 2023 I was so excited about this play! After I read it, it made me think of my time as a church parent! It was designed by Chesapeake Dairymple (a professional scenic designer) and we had to follow her design. It was a wonderful design with minimal things in the stage. It was so exciting to see it coming to life! I painted everything on the stage this time, except for the undercoats which were thankfully done by assistants! The worst part for me was figuring out how to do the stained glass windows on wood and make them look like glass. It took me a week of samples just to figure it out! But finally I got it and it looked great! Figuring out how to do the woodgraining was less problematic, but still took some time. I borrowed a lot of things for the play from our church including the nativity costumes. Everything came out great! We were able to finish it on time, even with our hours cut back to 4 days a week! Matilda Jr.

 Matilda Jr Show Dates: May 5-21  Really loved working on this show. My TD, John, designed the set. He left many of the details of the set up to me. I got to choose some of the colors and details on the set. I did have quite a bit of help painting this set. All the undercoats and back coats were done by other staff members. Which was great, because it gave me much more time to concentrate on the details. John painted the book wall. This was a great help, because I had just enough time to get everything else finished on time. We also decided to use wall paper for the book shelf to save time.  I had a lot of say in how the school room, the bathroom and the library were created. The wall art for the living room was also my idea as were the maternity and nursery windows. We also repainted a couch and put the mid century modern pattern on it!
